21st Century COE Program : Mathematics of Nonlinear Structure via Singularity

Kuramoto's Lecture Series "Dynamics of Oscillatory Fields"

The 21st Century COE Program "Mathematics of Nonlinear Structure via Singularity" has been organizing Professor Kuramoto's lecture series regularly (once or twice a month). It is a good opportunity to learn of his research activities in a summarized format. We welcome your active participation. This lecture series occurs during Kuramoto's office hours(*).

Note: This lecture series is in Japanese.

*Kuramoto's Office Hour
Professor Kuramoto, a professor emeritus at Kyoto University, has visited the department of Mathematics at Hokkaido University since April 2005.
He is considered a world authority on the field of non-equilibrium and nonlinear phenomena. He has great achievements and has invented many equations. One of them is called famous "Kuramoto Sivashinsky Equation". He has a great deal of curiosity and is interested in the recent mathematics research.
Therefore, we have made an opportunity to freely discuss with Prof. Kuramoto at his office 4-502A on every Thursday and Friday from 16:00 to 17:00.
Since he comes from a physical background, we recommend you to start with an explanation of mathematical background rather than the technological area.
Please note that when the Kuramoto's Lecture Series is held, the office hours is.
