Research Activities:
I am interested in the spatiotemporal chaotic phenomena and the dissipative structures that are observed in systems far from equilibrium state. Because the spatiotemporal behaviors, for example, pattern formation of cloud and river in nature, are complex and diverse, construction of a simple model is essential to understand the mechanism. The method of the modeling we have been used is constructive. Mathematical models are chosen among cellular automata, couple map lattices and partial differential equations, depending on the spatiotemporal scale of the phenomenon. The dynamics of pattern formation has been analyzed through modeling, numerical simulations and mathematical analysis.
